Making synthetic materials is much cheaper than growing natural fibers, and above all, it’s faster ! For materials like cotton, the constant renewal of collections pushes producers to use chemicals that are harmful to the soil, air and water.

IMPACT ON THE WORKERS

Fashion brands are in a price war. As a result, in order to obtain orders with considerable volume, some suppliers accept to reduce the production costs, and unfortunately it can have a negative impact on the workers wages.

The price of the product must allow a producer to cover all the production costs and to support the people he employs. This would mean that the price should be set in such a way that the right balance between ethic and margin is reached.
